BFIC Minutes - August 12, 2010.

Members attending: Becky Kuithe, Brian Fanguy, Rombelto Medrano, Steve Sherman, Clyde McKenzie, Yuan Nguyen, Pat Ojobaro

Meeting was called to order @ 7:30 PM

Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. Treasurer's report was presented and accepted.

Old Business: B. Kuithe gave report re house on Carnelian & Bandlon corner. Homeowner is in town and trying to get property cleaned up. J. Bedford received letter from the City of Houston stating our application for No Parking in Yards was approved by the committee and has been forwarded to City Council with their recommendation that the Council officially approve our request. R. Medrano has repaired the broken urinal. Also, the air conditioner in the restroom has been fixed. He presented another quote for light poles - $3000 to retrofit old poles or $1500 to just repair the lights. He will continue to get other quotes. R. Medrano presented a new bid for lawn service =$80 a mow rather than $100. A motion was made, seconded, and voted on unanimously to accept new bid. The new yard person is Jesus Martinez ( 832-276-8137 ).

New Business: S. Sherman received a letter from Juvenile Probation. The 2 youths who cut our chain link fence will be charged $250 for fence repair. S. Sherman asks to reserve clubhouse for political meeting on 9-8-10 and requests that rental fees be waived. Request was voted on and passed. He reports that the owner of the vacant lot on Bandlon has contacted him about writing letter to appraisal district about lot not having any value since it is too small on which to build a home. A motion was made, seconded, and passed to authorize S. Sherman to offer up to $1,000 to purchase lot for our community. B. Fanguy has received a letter re lawsuit against homeowner on Moonmist. He will turn this information over to Holt & Young. A discussion was held re crime in our neighborhood. Y. Nguyen reports that she had to decide on 1/2 a circular driveway due to costs.

Meeting was adjourned @ 8:15 PM.
